SUMMARY:2026 Bluegrass Hickory Open – Update!
DESCRIPTION:Until just recently Will Jacoby\, host of the Bluegrass Hickory Open\, was not sure the event would come off this year. But you can’t keep a good man down\, certainly not Will. Here’s his update for the event. \nMy Hickory Golf Friends\,\nWhat a year it has been.\nMany of you have heard about the challenges that have taken much of my time. Thank you for your kind words and support. \nUntil about two weeks ago\, I wasn’t sure I could host the Bluegrass Hickory Open this year. With so many doctor’s appointments and surgeries\, I simply didn’t have enough time to focus on one of the coolest private-club events in hickory golf. I truly believe the worst is now behind me\, and I’m ready to turn my attention to the event. \nI apologize for the short notice. Once I was able to give the event my full attention\, the pieces came together quickly. I’d now like to gauge your interest and support for the 2026 Bluegrass Hickory Open\, scheduled for Oct. 18-20. \nTo help keep the costs down this year\, I have decided to not do the extra trips and adventures that added greatly to the cost but was loved by so many. The other part of that decision was that the Jim Beam plant has shut down for a year of production. So… that was easy. \nAll participants will receive a tee gift bag that includes a number of unique items. We felt that the expensive shirt will be held for another year. \nThe Bluegrass Hickory Open 2026 will be held with a minimum of 20 players\, but we will not exceed 36 players. \nWe will have a new hotel this year. A big convention is happening in Louisville that weekend and we couldn’t work it out with the Marriott. We have a guaranteed room block for $129 per night. The hotel has given us one of their meeting rooms for a Social Gathering of Hickory Players after the practice round on Sunday night. We will be hosting a Bourbon Tasting and Story Sharing Time that evening. Details on the hotel will be sent to you individually once you commit to come and participate in this event. \nOwl Creek Country Club has committed to the same exceptional food prepared for lunches and the Awards Night Presentation after the round on Tuesday. \nEntry Fee to the 2026 Bluegrass Hickory Open will be $425.\nCovering Tee Gift\, food as mentioned\, the Bourbon Gathering on Sunday night. Founded in 1927\, it is a social and recreational gathering place for the neighborhood and surrounding community\, offering a relaxed setting for golf\, dining\, swimming\, and special events. \nThe course is a scenic\, meticulously maintained nine-hole regulation course designed by George Davies in 1927. The par-36 course measures 3\,015 to 3\,055 yards\, with a 35.2 course rating and slope ratings from 117 to 124. Played twice as an 18-hole loop\, it becomes a par-72 course of approximately 6\,030 yards.
