SoHG member Forrest Dillon is the driving force behind hickory golf in Maine. He has helped to organize the second annual Hickory Shaft Open at Mere Creek Golf Club in Brunswick.
The 9-hole event will have a 10 a.m. shotgun start and feature awards for low gross and low net individual play.
Non-Mere Creek members can enter for regular green fees of $20 walking or $28 with a cart.
Lunch is included in the outing.
