SoHG Hickory Playing Group
Recognition Program
To encourage collaboration and recognize those groups whose members actively support the Society’s mission, the SoHG offers three levels of recognition:
Hickory Playing Group
Recognized by the Society
Any group that gathers together to play hickory golf and promote the game within its community will be recognized as a Hickory Playing Group, and will be supported by the Society.
Support will include:
- Free listing in the Worldwide Hickory Playing Group Directory.
- Basic group information and contact details published on the SoHG website.
- Free Inclusion of the group’s tournaments in the Worldwide Hickory Tournament Calendar.
- Access to Society resources (Tournament Guidelines, Equipment Guidelines, etc.) as well as access to news and announcements relevant to hickory golf worldwide.
There is no cost to participate, and no minimum membership requirement.
SoHG Affiliate
Connected to the Society
Affiliate Groups are recognized as organizations that actively support the Society’s mission of preserving, promoting, and advancing hickory golf worldwide. A Hickory Playing Group may apply for Affiliate status by maintaining at least three SoHG members in good standing, with at least one being from the group’s leadership.
Additional benefits include:
- Enhanced Directory Listing
- Prominent recognition within the Worldwide Hickory Playing Group Directory.
- Display of the SoHG Affiliate emblem on the group’s directory listing.
- [Under Development]Â Expanded group profile including organizational history, mission, and contact information.
- Tournament Listings
- SoHG Affiliate  emblem displayed alongside tournaments listed in the Worldwide Hickory Tournament Calendar.
- SoHG Affiliate Emblem & Promotional Materials
- Permission to display the SoHG Affiliate emblem on websites, printed materials, and promotional communications.
- Access to Society promotional graphics and marketing resources.
- A supply of SoHG ball markers for distribution to members and event participants.
- News Items & Tournament Results Coverage
- Eligibility to submit news, tournament reports, and announcements for publication through Society communication channels.
SoHG Partner
Shaping the Future of Hickory Golf
Affiliate Groups whose members demonstrate exceptional support for the Society’s mission may be recognized as SoHG Partners. Generally, Partner status is reserved for organizations in which a majority of members are SoHG members in good standing.
SoHG Partners represent the strongest collaborative relationship between local hickory golf organizations and the Society.
Additional benefits include:
- Expanded Website Presence [Under Development]
- A dedicated group page within the SoHG website, allowing for expanded content, including:
- historical and organizational information
- member profiles of group leaders
- a photo gallery and more
- space for the preservation of group history and records within the Society’s digital archives.

- Active Tournament Listings & Promotion
- SoHG Partner emblem displayed alongside tournaments listed in the Worldwide Hickory Tournament Calendar.

- Prioritized inclusion in Society newsletters and featured articles.
- An expanded allotment of SoHG ball markers.
- A custom-designed banner incorporating both the group’s identity and Society recognition marks.
- Leadership Forum Participation
- Leadership participation in periodic leadership discussions concerning the future growth and development of hickory golf worldwide.
