Bowing to the fate of the times, the Spring Gathering will not occur this spring. Cathy and Denny Lane, the event’s hosts, have postponed the event indefinitely, hoping it might yet see spring sunshine at a later date. They wish everyone safekeeping until then.
The Honorable Company of Hickory Golfers cordially invites you to attend its Spring Gathering where we will celebrate World Hickory Golf weekend. World Hickory Golf Day is May 3 this year.
Friday
Noon – Our 4th annual Featherie Match, followed by nine holes of gutty golf at the Hillcrest Golf Center.
Experience the challenge of playing with a featherie ball (Hickory Lane featheries will be provided to those who RSVP) on 1800’s-style greens. Wood-headed clubs only, no irons. Loaners are available. Period dress is appreciated. Carts are available.
Saturday
Time TBD – We will gather at the Metamora Fields clubhouse for photos and our traditional toast and send-off. Period dress appreciated; play will be with Park or Braid ball. We will have refreshments for you during play, then gather for dinner after the round in the Metamora Fields clubhouse.
