The ninth annual playing of the Haggis Cup, one of the premier events for the Carolina Hickory Golf Association, was held at the Southern Pines Golf Course, a 1906 Donald Ross course. The field this year was of 28 players for the match play event The winner of the Gold Medal and the champion CHGA golfer of the year is Richard Schmidt (29.5 points). Steve Gaddy (26.5 points) is the runner up and wins the Silver Medal. The winner of the Bronze Medal for 2nd runner up is Charles Mitchell (25.5 points).
