The inaugural Winter Park Hickory Classic is formatted as a 27-hole stroke-play event. There will be Men’s and Women’s divisions, awards for both Gross and Net, cocktail parties, club swaps and a weekend of fun on a charming yet challenging 2,500-yard course that winds through picturesque Winter Park, Fla. If you’re lucky, a train will rumble past while you’re putting on the 6th green. Just like Scotland.
Friday, Jan. 17 is scheduled as a practice round that can be booked directly through the Winter Park pro shop. $20 Phone 407-599-3339. Tell them you are with the Hickory Classic.
Saturday, Jan. 18 is planned for two nine-hole rounds over Winter Park’s historic nine-hole track. Lunch and dinner on your own. Lots of choices in Winter Park.
Sunday is the final nine holes followed by lunch and awards at the clubhouse.
