Hickory Golf News

June 23, 2019

Hickory golfers in Peoria, Ill. launched the Peoria Hickory Open in late June. Organized by Tom Kerckhove, the event was held at the Arrowhead Country Club in Edelstein, Ill. The SoHG’s own self-described “Goodwill Ambassador of Hickory Golf,” Cal Whitman, took honors at the inaugural event. His name will go on the annual trophy, a handsome old-time milk can.

“We poured some shots, toasted the greatest game ever played, then went to the first tee,” Calvin said. “We thank Tom’s wife and daughters who took good care of us golfers,”

A great way to start off a new hickory event.
