Hickory Golf News

May 12, 2017, Greenfield, Mass. – The second annual Alexander Findlay Hickory Open showed that hickory golfers in Massachusetts know their history. Findlay was one of the great pioneers of golf in the U.S. He built the Country Club of Greenfield’s course in 1896.

As for the current contest, Patrick Maddock, assistant golf pro at Greenfield, reports that Gary Pomichter took the Gross Championship title with a brilliant 78. Mike Tracy carded a 69 for the Net Championship.

Kevin Piecuch, head pro at the club, said some 32 players enjoyed the outing, coming from quite far afield – Italy, England, Scotland – and from six U.S. states.
