The McNabb Cup has grown to legendary status on the Michigan Hickory Tour, albeit largely in the minds of its aging founders. Even so, they have scheduled a repeat of the Cup on Sept. 9, 2016 at the White Lake Golf Club. This year’s invitational letters will be sent in the spring. Not to fear should the coveted letter not appear in your post box, as The Committee, with the approval of Capt. Joseph Bodnar, generally smiles on all worthy applicants. The 2016 event shall be preceded, it is hoped, by a Friday round on the Muskegon Country Club, a beautiful, full-blooded, Donald Ross design that chastened as well as delighted the 2015 participants. A repeat visit (optional) to the charming Old Channel Trail Golf Course on Sunday completes the weekend. The Saturday night debauc… ah… party at the McNabb Cottage on Lake Michigan has been approved by the local authorities as long as certain unnamed celebrants will be kept in check.
