This is the second year of what promises to be an intriguing and annual event on the hickory golf calendar. There are few other events like it which incorporate teams and match play.

Hamp Munsey, former SoHG president and a co-organizer of the event with Chris Deinlein (also a former SoHG president), has said the event not only honors the memory of Mike Just but is a celebration of the rich history of golf’s premier match-play events, such as the Ryder Cup, Walker Cup, Curtis Cup and others. “This second year of the tournament brings teams from north and south regional play groups to enjoy both match-play and singles contests. It’s a Ryder Cup-style format and was much enjoyed by all at the French Lick Resort during the inaugural event in 2017.”

May 31 is set aside for a practice round. The matches are scheduled for June 1 and 2.

“We are looking forward to it as is the host course,” Munsey said. “Mimosa hosted our first three U.S. Hickory Opens and the staff is delighted to have us return.”
