Hickory Golf News

The VaHGA met for its Virginia Hickory 4-Ball Invitational in September at the Keswick Club in Keswick, Va. on Sept. 14-16. Greg Witmer and Eric Wagner won the low gross by one shot over Bob and Skip Platt. Jim Clawson and Rick Woeckener finished two back. Players who competed in the event included Eric Wagner, Greg Whitmer, Skip Platt, Bob Platt, Mike Hobson, Gary McNutt, Rick Woeckener, Jim Clawson, Deal Hudson, Terry Pemberton, Tom Mehigan, and Rob Gilbert. You’ll notice one fellow holding a monkey. That’s Terry Pemberton who, with his partner Deal Hudson, won low net. As organizers forgot to secure a tropy for this division, a knick-knack was borrowed from the club and served as trophy for the presentation. Greg Whitmer says the monkey has been returned and they are searching for a more appropriate honor for future events.
