A new venue has been chosen for the 2018 All-American Hickory Open.
With the uncertainty about a possible closure of the Rock Island Arsenal Golf Course, we have decided to move the All-American Hickory Open to Soangetaha Country Club, a private club in Galesburg, Ill. It was established in 1895 as a 9-hole course, and expanded to 18 holes by Tom Bendelow in 1923. As it has both pre-1900 and pre-1935 history, we have added several divisions for gutty and modern hickory enthusiasts.
Soangetaha has played host to numerous golf championships including; the Illinois Men’s Amateur, the Illinois Women’s Amateur, the Illinois Senior Men’s Amateur, the Illinois Women’s Senior Amateur, and the National Left-handed Golfers Tournament. It is a parkland course with views of Lake Rice on eight holes.
